Programme of Events

Second Dance Meeting in Venice, Italy ♦ 2nd - 6th May 2014

♦Students and teachers from Ireland, Germany and Turkey will travel to Venice in Italy for the second, Take a Chance: Let's Dance! meeting.

♦Student profiles have been prepared so that the new students can become familiar with each other before they meet.

♦Bracelets are being made in Newpark for all the participants which reflect the theme of friedship.

♦Have a great trip all!

Friday 2nd May

Arrival day

♦Students and teachers arrive in Venice

♦13.30 Turks arrive and meet Mrs Gattini at airport

♦15.00 Meeting point with hosts at Piazzale Roma –Venice bus station

♦17.20 Germans arrive and meet Ms Battistel at airport

♦19.00 Meeting point with hosts at Piazzale Roma - Venice bus Station

♦ Students go home

♦20.30 Dinner for teachers

 

Saturday 3rd May

First Day

♦8.00 German and Turkish students at school: classes with their hosts ♦Teachers free time: independent visit of neighborhood

♦10.00 Walk in mixed groups to Parco Groggia (S. Alvise) – Look for dancing gestures in Tintoretto’s paintings in Madonna dell’Orto, in statues, people…

♦Teachers may come to school or meeting point at 10.30 Campo dei Gesuiti in front of We-crociferi

♦11.00 Irish arrive & meet Ms Prata, Ludovica, Enrico, Lucrezia & Gaia at airport ♦Bus and boat to S. Alvise , parco Groggia

♦12.00-12.30 Gathering of all partners: rehearsals in the theatre

♦13.00 Lunch/buffet by “Orient Experience” in Parco Groggia

♦15.00 Welcome with headmaster ♦Performance of poetry dances ♦Preparation for Flashmob 

♦18.00 Students go home

♦19.15 Dinner for teachers

Sunday 4th May

Second Day

♦9.30 Meeting point to be announced (bring a packed lunch)

♦Trip to the Islands of the Lagoon

♦Flashmob (time & venue to be fixed)

♦16.00 Students go home

♦Teachers: work meeting and dinner at Laura’s

Monday 5th May

Third Day

♦8.00 Meeting at school ♦Walk to Mark’s Square

♦9.30 Visit to Biennale - Photography exhibition of past Dance festivals and guided tour of the Palace (view of S. Mark basin)

♦12.00 Boat to Giudecca: s. Giorgio - Zitelle Lunch at “Food and Art”

♦15.00-17.00 CZ Theatre: Dance exchanges: students bring their music and teach each other their favourite dances

♦Sharing and evaluation

♦Students go home

♦Dinner for teachers

Tuesday 6th May

Departure Day

♦8.00 Italian students go to school

♦Irish group: Piazzale Roma at 9am or airport at 9.45am

♦11.45 Flight to Dublin

♦Turks and Germans can leave their luggage at school till 15.00

♦Turkish and German teachers with their students: free sightseeing

♦19.00 Germans and Turks leave

Wednesday 7th May

Back to School

♦Tired but Happy!

♦What a wonderful trip, sun, sea and success.

♦Thanks to Elisabetta and Laura for their great organisation and energy.

♦Thanks also to the host students and their families for their hospitality.
